Dear Local Business Owner:

We have planned an exciting year at Roberto Clemente Middle School this year, full of programs and events for our 1150 students and their families. This year we are also offering different options for local businesses to reach our parents and show their support for our local school. There will now be three major communications channels including the Student Directory, School Web Site, and Monthly Newsletter. Each is an important and valuable way to reach our parent community. Since Roberto Clemente houses the special up-county programs for Humanities and Science your sponsorship helps you reach 300 parents from all over the upper county area. Your sponsorship of any or all of these will help to fund important educational programs for our school’s students.

We are currently finalizing our school directory, which will be so full of vital information for the parents that they are sure to use it on a regular basis. It will include over 1100 family phone numbers, school phone numbers, teacher emails, research web site data, and the school calendar. Your business information in this directory will receive exposure over and over throughout the school year and even later. Since RCMS feeds 2 high schools our directory is often kept for years as an easy reference for old friends. Distribution is planned for mid-November, giving you only a few weeks to reply and ensure your business is noticed.

Our newsletter also provides another way to show your support and reach our parents on a monthly basis. The newsletter is targeted for 8 issues and puts your business name in the front of our parent readers every time. The PTSA Web Site is one more great way to reach our parents. This is an extremely valuable method since we can embed links to your business web site for you and put 1100 parents just “one click away”. Few schools are offering this opportunity so far, but over 80% of our Montgomery County school systems parents are normally “online” and ours are especially so since we use the “edline” automated grading system and “Yahoo Groups” electronic lists to reach 500 families on a daily basis. Our emails direct our parents to a variety of web-site information, and our “Thanks” sections will bring your business valuable recognition from and a special connection to our community.

This sponsorship will receive notice of over 1100 families in the Germantown and upper county area. By supporting our school PTSA you will not only be helping to improve your community but will receive the very public thanks and recognition. Our parents will surely notice your support, but we are planning additional recognition as a bonus. This year each time the PTSA puts on a major event, which will normally involved several hundred families visiting the school, we will be recognizing your businesses sponsorship with a special “thanks” to tell our parents about your support.
